DR.MARTENS x DOPE MNL: BORGY MANOTOC invites you to POP FEST 2012!
June 2nd, 2012 - Fort Strip. See you there!

Happy To Be

Please forgive, but this will not be a fashion-related post albeit it will be somehow related as creativity spurs fashion, and this post is all about creativity.

I'm here to share the news that I am now officially a part of the STACHE Magazine family. Yey! :) It's been a long dream of mine to be a part of a team of such creative people and now it's finally come true.

Can't wait to start on my first article for the June 2012 issue. While waiting, do check out their April-May all out art issue and summer mini mag here.

Boho Loving at the Office

This is what I love about working (interning) for advertising. You get to be free and wear anything you like! The advertising agency I'm working for right now is just a small one and they encourage us to wear anything we want, even shorts (which is a big no-no for other agencies)! While I have yet to try donning my daisy dukes at the office, I do try to be fun and free with the outfits I choose to wear.

I'm just seriously in love with tribal and aztec prints right now! Hence the look I have on here with my aztec print leggings and braided leather headband. Feeling sick here though so I didn't dress up too wild so I only had a plain white shirt on and my dependable huge-ass gray sweater (it's so cold in the office!).

Think the look works? :)

Bloggers United Strikes Three!

Third time’s the charm for the most anticipated fashion bloggers event in the country!

Bloggers United is staging their third bloggers bazaar this June 2 at the Grandview Events Place to once again gather Manila’s top fashion bloggers in one single venue outside of the World Wide Web. After holding two successful events last year, Bloggers United has easily become one of the most anticipated affairs for both fashion bloggers and readers in the metro.  More than just a bazaar, Bloggers United also partners with charitable groups to use and channel their influence in a positive manner.

Through the overwhelming power of social media and blogs in today’s generation, the previous Bloggers United events have successfully joined forces with top fashion bloggers like Laureen Uy, Camille Co, Kryz Uy and many more to inspire their followers and to raise funds for various beneficiaries,  namely KIDS Foundation and GMA Kapuso Foundation. This time around, the event will benefit Operation Smile Philippines.

The event gets better and better every time! To make Bloggers United 3 even more momentous, top Indonesian fashion blogger Anastacia Siantar of The Brown Platform will also be selling alongside Cebu fashion bloggers and our very own top celebrities Divine Lee & Sarah Meier.

So, if you love blog-reading and blog-hopping, Bloggers United is sure to be the perfect end-of-summer bazaar for you. Not only will you be able to bump elbows with your favorite bloggers at the event, but you will also be able to snag some of their own stylish statement pieces as they open their closets to sell to the public. Stay-up-to-date with the biggest gathering of bloggers by following us on Twitter (twitter.com/bloggers_united) and Facebook (facebook.com/bloggersunitedph), and bookmarking our official webpage (bloggersunited.org).

Wild Candy

Like I mentioned in my 1st post, this wasn't the outfit that I was planning to wear for the Candy Style Awards but due to the sudden pouring of rain, I had to make last-minute scrap and redo my look for the event.

Headband from Saizen, Glasses from Love Loca, Crop Sweater from Topshop, Harem Pants from Tomato, and Shoes from  Asian Vogue

So my inspiration for this outfit was animal prints turned girly and feminine. Every part of this look has something connected to animals on it, except for the shoes. I was getting a whole lot of funny looks from my bunny headband but I think it just makes the outfit the right kind of quirky and sweet.

From the moment I arrived at the venue, all the girls in line where giving me funny looks, especially since I cut in line and made my way straight to the entrance(perks of being a CC!). Then inside, some of the celebrities already there where smiling at me and I was hearing comments from managers like, "Pwedeng talent 'to o." :)) It was even funny because I was asked by an intern at Candymag.com (where I freelance as a Correspondent) to have my photo taken for an article.

But I guess the best part was when I was asked by some Candy girls there to have my photo taken with them. Feeling celebrity ako that night. Thank you thank you thank you for all the Candy girls there who complimented me on my outfit. Such a nice feeling to be recognized by others. :)

Oh and wait for my feature in Candy Magazine coming out in a few months! ;)

Candy Style Awards 2012: A CC's POV

So here’s my take on the Candy Style Awards as a Candy Correspondent. Was assigned again by Ms. Macy (our Web Editor) to interview celebrities for 5-in-5 along with my fellow CC, Mai Arcano but this time, we didn’t have a permanent media station so pahirapan kami to find a place to interview the celebs.
At first, I was just alone with our cameraman kuya Marco since Mai would be arriving late. We stationed ourselves by the media wall at the entrance but we got flooded by all the other media personnel and we were blocking the entrance to the tent so eventually, we went outside and just interviewed celebs at the photo wall by the red carpet.
Got to interview Sarah Lahbati, Alden Richards (who made beso to me after I interviewed him!), Lauren Young, Patricia Prieto, Camille Co, and Tricia Gosingtian who even told me that I was cute! :)
I’m just really sad that this just might be the last event I cover as a CC. T’was a fun year working at Candy. ;)

Candy Style Awards 2012

So my first post on my attempt at a fashion blog, I give to you what happened at the 1st ever Candy Style Awards held at the Rockwell Tent last May 4.

On the day of the event, I had work so I took a half-day and made way to home from the office so I could prep and prepare for the event. It was hot and sunny the whole week prior to the event so I prepared a breezy outfit for the night but when I went home from the office, it suddenly rained hard so I had to change my prepared look into something more-rainy friendly.

Photos here on this post were taken when we were on break from our assignment, so me and my fellow Candy Correspondents were able to watch the show and the actual awarding of our favorite style icons. :)
